World Maths Day at Holy Family.
At Holy Family Primary School, we celebrated World Maths Day with great excitement and enthusiasm across the entire school community - from our youngest learners in Playgroup right through to our confident mathematicians in Year 7!
The day was filled with fun, engaging, and meaningful activities designed to highlight the importance of maths in everyday life. Each class took part in a range of practical and interactive challenges, encouraging pupils to think critically, solve problems, and most importantly, enjoy maths.
Our Playgroup and Foundation Stage children explored early mathematical concepts through play-based learning. From counting games and building and sorting activities, our youngest pupils developed their numeracy skills in a fun and hands-on way.
In Key Stage 1, pupils took part in exciting maths trails, number games, and outdoor problem-solving tasks. Classrooms were buzzing with energy as children worked together to crack codes, solve puzzles, and apply their learning in creative ways.
Key Stage 2 pupils embraced more complex challenges, including maths quizzes, real-life problem-solving activities, and friendly competitions.
Throughout the day, there was a strong focus on teamwork, resilience, and perseverance. Pupils were encouraged to “have a go,” learn from mistakes, and celebrate their successes - big and small.
World Maths Day at Holy Family was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the joy of learning and to remind everyone that maths is not just about numbers- it’s about thinking, exploring, and discovering new ways to understand the world around us.
We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for their enthusiasm and effort, and we look forward to continuing our maths journey together!
Well done, everyone! 🎉
