On Friday, 49 pupils went to Armagh to take part in the Rice Cup for boys and the ERST cup for girls. Our girls’ team performed brilliantly, making it to the final, only to lose out to a very strong Armagh team.
For the first time since 1989, our boys’ team came home with the Rice Cup. A massive achievement, beating an Armagh team going for 10 in a row! Having lost to Armagh in the group stages, the boys showed great character to come out on top in the final.
A nostalgic day for the Tierney family, as captain Joseph lifted the trophy, 38 years after his father Paul did the same in 1987.
