Polytunnel Planting 🌱🌱🌱
Year 3 had a fantastic time planting in the polytunnel on Friday! 🌱 It was a beautiful spring day and the children loved getting their hands dirty while learning how to grow their own food.
We planted peas, lettuce, chilli and radish seeds in cardboard tubes that we had been collecting. The children learned that these tubes are biodegradable, which means they will break down in the soil and help it stay healthy for our plants to grow.
The children learned all about how seeds grow and what they need to germinate. They are very excited to watch their plants change and grow over the next few weeks! Later, we will move them into the planters, and hopefully in the summer we will be able to pick, prepare and taste our very own delicious vegetables.
A fun and hands-on learning experience for everyone! 🌼
