Some of our Year 6 pupils, met with pupils from Omagh County P.S., to participate in practical workshops to learn about diversity and people from around the world. Members of Belfast Friendship Club gave first hand accounts about how they were forced out of their home country to live in Northern Ireland, e.g.
- Segregation in South Africa,
- War in Somalia,
- Harsh punishments in Iran,
- Racism in London.
The main aim of the day was to foster respect, trust and empathy. The children had a lovely morning.
