Environmental Youth Speak Competition

27th Feb 2026
Maisy Mai, Ella, Clara-Rose and Eliza-Jane participated in the Environmental Youth Speak Competition organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC), in partnership with South West College and The Executive Office (TEO) District Council Good Relations Programme.
The theme for the 2026 competition was ‘The Importance of Reuse & Repair.” ♻️🌱🚰✅🪵🌺♻️

This is an excellent initiative which empowers our young people to speak out and share their views on key environmental issues. It also provides them with an opportunity to enhance their skills in public speaking, which our girls certainly did!
♻️
They are so passionate in their work and work tirelessly around the school promoting good habits in waste management, conserving energy, reducing food waste and plastic use! They worked so hard on their independent research and presented their views on the topic! It was a great team effort and they worked so well together collaboratively !
♻️
They were absolutely fantastic and are great ambassadors for our school! We are so proud of them - well done girls 🫶🏼
♻️
Although it wasn’t their day, they had a great time and got lovely goody bags and a beautiful planter for the school for all their hard work 🙌
♻️
Thank you so much to South West College, FODC, TEO & The Good relations Programme as our girls had a great day out
( and the sandwiches were fab also) 👏
