Cross Country Stars!!

10th Feb 2026
Our pupils took part in Round 3 of the Flahavan’s Cross Country in Necarne, Irvinestown. Despite cold and wet conditions, they competed over a challenging 1.8km course with numerous tough hills and gradients.
All of our runners performed exceptionally well and represented the school with great pride. Kyra Mimnagh secured an excellent second place in the girls’ race after a hard-fought battle. James McCarron also finished second in the boys’ race following a very strong performance, while Sam Motherwell narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in an impressive seventh place.
In the fun run, both our boys’ and girls’ teams produced strong performances. A special mention goes to Connla Quinn, who won the boys’ fun run race with a fantastic run.
As a result of their outstanding performances across the three rounds of the Flahavan’s, Kyra, James and Sam have all qualified individually for the next stage of the competition, the Northern Ireland Final.
Well done to all of our runners, and best of luck to our Holy Family pupils as they continue their journey in the competition. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️👏
