Year 4 had an unforgettable visit to South West College as part of our WAU topic Home Sweet Home. We explored the world of trades and discovered how plumbers, bricklayers, and joiners each play a vital role in building a house — from laying bricks to fitting pipes and crafting woodwork.
The children were fascinated to see how these skilled professionals help turn plans into homes, and many left feeling inspired to one day take up a trade themselves! We were treated to crisps and water, gifted high-vis vests to keep, and welcomed warmly by the amazing staff who made the day so special.
A huge thank you to everyone at South West College for facilitating this hands-on learning experience. It’s a trip our pupils absolutely love — and one that might just shape their future careers.
