♻️ Year 7 help to ‘Save our Strule!’ ♻️

23rd Feb 2024

Well done to our Year 7 Eco-Warriors who carried out a litter pick along the River Strule Pathway today. As part of our Eco-Schools work this term, we have been learning all about the importance of Marine Ecosystems to life on our planet. Emmet Brogan (Fermanagh & Omagh District Council) recently visited the school and gave a presentation on the River Strule Basin. The children learned about the Geography of our local River, the wildlife it supports and the threats facing this unique ecosystem.  Holy Family pupils and staff have resolved to do our best to help protect our River Strule by engaging in projects to reduce waste/ particularly plastic pollution from entering the Strule. All classes will be participating in Litter Picks along the River Strule over the coming months! Let’s all work together to ‘Save Our Strule!
