🦋🌿 Super Symmetrical Butterflies🌿🦋
Today the Year 3 children created beautiful symmetrical butterflies using natural materials at Forest School. There was lots of wonderful discussion about how to ensure both sides of the butterfly matched perfectly and the different ways the children could decorate their butterflies using patterns, sticks, leaves, petals and stones.
Coming away from the activity, the children could all confidently explain what symmetry is and why it is important that both sides of a butterfly match. We also learned some fantastic butterfly facts along the way!
🦋 Did you know? Butterflies taste with their feet! They stand on leaves to check if the plant is good enough to lay their eggs on.
