We are delighted to support the Big Summer Read 2026, organised by Libraries NI.
This year's exciting theme is "The Story Tree", encouraging children to keep reading throughout the summer holidays while exploring books that interest them. Reading over the summer helps children maintain and develop their literacy skills, and the programme offers a fun and free way for families to get involved.
⭐ Read 5 books and receive a bookmark.
⭐ Read 10 books and earn a certificate to celebrate your achievement.
The Big Summer Read runs from 29 June to 31 August 2026, and children can sign up at their local library.
As part of the programme, Omagh Library is creating a special Story Tree display. Children are invited to share the title of their favourite story on a leaf that will be added to the tree, helping it grow throughout the summer!
We encourage all our pupils and families to take part and enjoy a summer filled with reading adventures.
